My friend says he wants to die
he's in a band that sounds like Pearl Jam
the clothes are all black
the music is crap
The pinnacle of rock n' roll poetry, ladies and gentlemen. Might as well pack it up while we're behind the times

Wilson's lyrics have never been all that good tbh, it's his musical arrangements that shine.

They're a range. Many of his lyrics are great, especially on the solo albums.

Eh he never delivers them with much emotion tho, the dude can sing but his delivery has always been pretty vapid to me.

I feel like many of Wilson's best lyrics are in Storm Corrosion, but that's also because of how well their imagery works in conjunction with the music

5 this or derp, jam anesthetize or parachute into the fuckin kilauea ( that's fuckin worse than mt vesuvius )

i agree. wilson's lyrics are almost always best when they are more abstract (the sky moves sideways album being a great example) and i feel like this is at least partially back on storm corrosion. i also agree that the music is a big factor in this case, the lyrics of "ljudet innan" are not great poetry but when the music plays i melt

Jamming way out of here, the instrumentation is pretty dope
