Great album, but many seem to put it in the same tier as Character and Damage Done. Definitely not, me says.
Completely off topic, but someone here has to know, was it Niklas Sundin who did most the writing for the band and who would be most responsible for the “DT sound”?

I'm one of those degenerates. It goes Character> Damage Done> Fiction for my top 3

a lot of DT is just really nostalgic for me, this included. Maybe that explains it

I’d also put it up there pretty high in a list of best tracks. It’s my fave from the album for sure.

Album is perfect. Was my first "good" metal album I listened to and it was one hell of a step up.

@Ghost Stanne credits a lot of Gallery to Fredrik Johansson, he was pretty instrumental in helping with their early works. So in that regard, he helped to make what would be the DT template alongside Sundin. RIP

Pretty sure Sundin was the main man who was most involved in the songwriting process yeah

Don't forget about Henriksson guys. He was definitely equally involved with the songwriting on The Gallery as Sundin. Plus he gave us Lethe, Of Melancholy Burning, and the t/t.

A Closer End is one of the best DT tracks and I wish it was on Spotify.

I've been meaning to do some digging as far as who the major players were re: the songwriting for this band in the 90's, but I do know that Henriksson did most of their stuff in the '00s, with Sundin only contributing bits and pieces here and there.

My first DT album. I was a teenager when i heard Misery's Crown for the first time. This is such a nostalgic album for me, it brings back so many great memories, every time i listen to it

Focus Shift is so catchy! Takes me back to the days when I was still in complete awe of every single extreme metal song I'd discover. It's wonderful and makes me very happy. Wish the whole album was on par with that track

Focus shift is the best here yeah. And one of their best songs period

Let's be real, this thing is banger after banger. Picking faves is redundant but Lesser Faith and Focus Shift are immaculate
