whether or not you like pantera, you can't deny they're one of the most important metal groups of all time like they were the face of the 90's metal scene and people spent years wacking off to dimebag's tones and phil's tough guy persona to this day

Did any of you watch that interview I posted? Very cool to see Phil and Rex talk about this record.

What I found interesting is that I don't think Phil or Rex really addressed the glam metal era in such detail until then. They've usually been quick to disown those albums, but I'm surprised at how much respect Phil in particular had for that era in the interview despite not having joined the band at that time yet

Not a big fan of that era myself

I'm not too big on it either (sans Power Metal), just thought it was interesting to finally hear them address those albums instead of completely dodging the question like they did previously

lol yeah
It's also cool how much reverence they still hold for Dimebag to this day. Every interview I see with the surviving members, the discussion always naturally comes back around to how influential Dimebag's tone and style were... and for good reason, of course

not sure how old everyone posting is, but back then, Pantera was life, especially Dime
THERE WAS NOTHING BETTER, but they couldn't maintain it
