TLCW is their best, Long Drive is two.
Easily, yeah.

"Good News and Strangers are their worst."
The usual take, of usually bad quality.
...which isn’t to say I don’t like them though. I still have both at 3.5. I just think their other albums are superior.

I'm sorry. I'm sworn to protect Good News. It's my duty.

SandwichBubble has ensured this for years...
I'm actually flabbergasted that he hasn't poked his head in yet

Good news is certainly better than this

I've always preferred Good News to this, but these days the gap isn't too noticeable. and Spitting Venom beats anything from Good News

That's a pretty bold and false take, but that is a brilliant song.

Ocean Breathes Salty is sometimes on par with Spitting Venom, but generally yeah that and Parting of the Sensory are a cut above GN
+ Dashboard is still the best MM pop song

Shunning "Tetons," dishonest of ya!
"Dashboard" is infectious for sure though.

Oops lol forgot about Tetons, wasn't that the B-side to Little Motel?

moon is overrated and this is a better cheap thrill, but largely valid point

Album Rating: 4.4
Moon being overrated, that's a new one, but alright

Album Rating: 3.9
moon falls into the classic trap of Great 00s Lyrical Indie Records by not actually being *that* amazing lyrically across the board (still p strong ofc) + it requires you to heavily invest in the whole album flow for certain tracks not to sound like scattergun outings that any decent post-Pixies band could have done equally well
|
| |
i'll agree that moon is not on the same level as lonesome
that's simply one of the best, most innovative indie records ever written
|
| |
i actually like building something more than moon
