Umm I really dont hear anything blues on this album, just some 4/4 timed songs that go absolutely nowhere. Not a bad review by any means, but the layout is a little strange and unorganized.

Metallica is one of the worst bands on the face of this earth because of St.Anger. I really didnt think they could sink any lower after reload but they did. St.Anger makes this album look good!

St.Anger = Worst Metal Album Ever (and an insult to the name of metal)

Then go take your anger out on the St. Anger thread. St. Anger isn't nearly the worst metal album ever. It's down there though. Megadeth's Risk couldnt even beat St. Anger in my opinion

ehh...I disagree with that bfhurricane...st anger had no good songs...at least risk by megadeth had a few like prince of darkness, insomia, the doctor is calling, crush em (was is alright)

BFhurricane:

I might have lost a bit of focus on that last comment, but I was only using that Metallica example to back up something I was trying to say to make this album seem a bit better. And Risk was a thousand times better than St. Anger simply because Dave Mustaine still knows how to play guitar!

"Anything blues" on this album? Ok........

And how can you say the band is the worst in the face of the earth because of St. Anger? It is a bad album, but the "big four" thrash metal albums they released in the 80's are still the best in the genre along with albums released by bands like Megadeth and Slayer.

If you don't like rock it's one thing. Not liking this album because it's rock to me it's just dull. And who cares if the songs are 4/4? The Metallica I know wasn't that crazy in using unusual time signatures even when they played thrash. So you hate everything Metallica I suppose?

Yeah dude..my Favorite band is Metallica the kicked more ass in the 80's though.. but i still really like there whole rock feel too dont get me wrong. I just perfer the old school metal/thrash feel they used to have. but whats good the new upcoming album is having a metal/thrash feel once agian which i am excited about.

Rick Rubin produced Slayer's best album. Let's hope he does the same with Metallica. Ok I'm dreaming now, someone slap me!

Have any of you heard Metallica's new single, The Ecstasy of Gold. It's surprisingly pretty damn good. It's an instrumental and it has some great guitar.

Great review

I agree this is a good hard rock album, and the reason people hate it is because it isnt thrash

The Outlaw Torn is one of Metallica's greatest songs to date in my opinion.

Great Review I Completely Agree. But Why is Load/Reload (they were supposed to be a double album) NOT Metal? i Hear Metal everywhere in this albums, from the dark lyrics/riffs to the whole attitude, yes there is blues/jazz rock in here too but Not Metal? i disagree! from the general cohesive i got most people consider Alice In Chains More Metal Than Grunge, So why this not Metal? just my 2 cents. And i don't thinks this was made for commercial Success its very "out-there", If they wanted more money we would have got a "Black Album 2"
