Mezzanine being ‘chilly’ definitely nails it for me, find it hard to connect to the album beyond the superficial ‘oh this is intetesting’ & it is interesting.

'Mezz' has it too...but it goes into the paranoia side of things.



'Mezz' is good but I lose focus second half, tried it again recently and 'Blue Lines' was such an easy flow listen and 'Mezzanine' lost me a little at times.

If anything, I'd say it's Maxinquaye that goes off track a bit in the second half.

Maybe it's more lopsided quality wise than 'Dummy' for me, the first half of 'Mezz' is definitely 5/5 but the second half is more a 4/5. 'Dummy' has 'Numb', 'Roads' and 'Glory Box' second half which are three of the best.



'Dissolved Girl' has really grown off me, 'Group 4' is alright, 'Man Next Door' is good but not amazing, (exchange) is neat but more an encore...



Still, like I said, a 4.5 album nonetheless, it great

It's a little overrated, it's one of the better trademark 'Mezz' guitar finales though...just some of what builds up to that is a bit average, at least to justify 5:30 on the clock before the guitar turns up.

i realized the other day that this takes me back to the game Riven, idk if thats even something anyones heard of but i would have this on repeat while playing thru it so long ago

I've only played myst but might consider checking that one out. I got a lot of associations with a lot of music and WoW
