Good review. Listening to this again after about 15 years and this album still kicks thorough ass. His use of bizzare samples and multi cultural instrumentals create such a textural and sort of lurid feel, which gets caught in a sort of timeless state. really beautiful stuff.

a lot more rapping in this, a lot dimmer atmosphere. they're the same genre but they're opposite cornerstones. Endtroducing is deservedly recognized whereas maxinquaye jus doesn't get its props.

blow by blow, it's a tough battle between them

tricky's 'rapping' is the best way i can put that you get a much more personal experience with adrian thaws than with josh davis. it's hard to say much of anything is better than the atmosphere of endtroducing but i feel closeness to maxinquaye i couldn't see someone feeling with endtroducing.

what are other trip hop classics (of course mezz and probly dummy) iyo?
