For We Are Many does rule. I think I would trust my musical taste in Spirit's hands more than any of y'all.

I mean Overcome has good songs on it. It does. But it's certainly different.

I feel like my loving Load has been a blessing since 1996. I don't mind much when bands change their sound, as long as it's still objectively good (Looking at you Queensryche).

Overcome has some really great guitar work but Phil just shits all over it.

His cleans were fine when used in small doses, but he just isn't a strong enough vocalist to carry an entire tune.

There was a general sense back in the TDH-TFOI days that he was the best vocalist in metal.

Definitely hyperbolic, but he sounds damn good on this album, not gonna lie.

Really? I never got the idea that that sentiment was around. He's dece on here and TFOI. I prefer this one because it has less radio metal choruses.

The choruses it does have, especially "The Deepest Grey," are catchy as hell.

I think I tried to listen to the one album he did with them and was not a fan

Not real big on SF anyway, tho, but I do like Art of Balance
