I think the fact that it's the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of this album puts me off listening to it sometimes lol

Took me years to get into this one merciless train of technical havoc. When I finally got past New Build and Smudged Lenses I was surprised to find lots of amazing melodies afterwards. And dat tapping in Lost to Apathy.

It's just a bit difficult to sit this one through these days, when I finally get to My Negation I feel like "NOW I CAN REST". Not for everyday listen. I guess we're not 20yo as well anymore lol.

This is actually probably their most interesting record after The Gallery but for some reason, I always see-saw between Fiction and this in choosing my second favorite DT record.

For almost a decade now I thought this an unremarkable album...but just put this on and it's a lot better than I remember. Makes me reconsider whether Moment is really all that good.

Mikael Stanne definitely set the standard for me when it comes to writing in metal and music in general. He's not only an incredible vocalist but his writing is always top tier and he is definitely at his peak here.
