Learning a Jaco song can improve your playing so much it's not even funny.

Donna Lee is probably the worst song on the entire album, despite its innovativeness. Used to be a Cha-Cha destroys

(Used to Be a) Cha-Cha is such a jam, man that flute solo gives me chills.

As someone else stated here, Donna Lee was such a horrible choice as an opener track. It's literally just a bass flex and Come On, Come Over kind of sounds out of place. Continuum is really where things get interesting

Without question the most moronic review I've ever read about this unmatched seminal album. One needs to remember that Jaco was 24 years old, YES 24 YEARS OLD! When he made this debut album. The mere fact that Jazz greats like Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Lenny White, Hubert Laws, and Don Alias would get into the studio and play on a 24 year old's album says all you need to know about this truly spectacular talent who revolutionized contemporary music as the first and very best to play a fretless electric bass. In regards to the compositions here, I'd like to know what 24 year old wrote better music than this1? ... it's beyond stupid! His bold and astounding version of Donna Lee alone is enough to put him in the annals of Jazz greats now and forever. His maturity and musicianship as a young man, holding his own with masters like Herbie and Wayne, ...there was no one like him. Great musicians knew the real deal when they heard him play, the critic who wrote this knows nothing sorry to say.

album as a whole is a bit inconsistent, but the run of tracks 3, 4, and 5 is astounding
