You call yourself Blink_Fan315 and complain about bland guitars?
no kidding. here's the deal. it's pretty simple. if you like GC, the government has poluted your mind and I'm afraid you are almost incurable. Here are your options:

1)get some old metallica, some slayer, 3 Inches of Blood, and maybe a little dimmu borgir to represent the exact opposite spectrum of music and listen to it until you forget this band exists.

2)kill yourself

enjoy your pop-punk you p*****s!!!
I'm sorry, but Good Charlotte are not pop-punk. Lagwagon, Millencolin, NOFX, that's pop-punk. GC are just power-pop at most
Not even, they think because they have some tatoos they are concidered punk, thay are just Pop! nothign else, when you sing songs that gay, your pop. :thumb:

Good Charlotte is just rock. Not punk, not pop... just Rock. They have always been a rock band. They have catchy tunes, and the only reason you guys hate them as much as you do, is because they got rich and famous... with a song about how they hate rich and famous people. It makes me giggle when I see morons say "Derp... those idiots wrote a song about how being rich and famous is stupid, when they are like Rich and famous" SHUT THE F*CK UP! They were neither rich, nor famous when they wrote that song.

Now as for the album. It is a hell of alot better than their previous one, because it isn't as poppy, and it is alot more personal.

Listen to "Moutain" if you get the chance. That song is great. If you have heard Predictable, then just to let you know the rest of the album has that kind of sound to it.

There is plenty of bad music out there in the world to diss. Songs sung by people who can't write them, or can't sing them live (hint hint). But at least Good Charlotte write their own songs. I liked them way back in 2000, so it pains me now to see my little sister's stupid f*cking friends say how they are going to marry them, but thats not the bands fault. Its their promoters and sh*t.

And whats wrong with being poppy? Ever hear of the beatles? They are one of the best bands ever, yet they are 10 times poppier than GC.

Anyway its not like you guys are gonna listen to me anyway so meh.

Good Charlotte was never a punk band and probably never will be. Which songs are considered punk that are sung by GC? They may have some 'nifty' punk-ish tatoos, but they can't be considered punk at all.

This album was bad. The first album sucked, the second one was bareable, but this is juts crossing the line. They have no edge, vocals are ok but not the greatest, and the lyrics are mediocre at best.

Yeah, they write their own songs, but they could maybe try to write better? I wish...

You guys are ruining these forums by being big whiny b*tches. I dont like good charlotte much now, but saying they're whiny bitches and just whining about how they're bitches, lol, well that makes you nothing better than them.

Pop means popular you retard. It had nothing to do with your sexual preference. Basically every popular band, singer, etc. are in pop culture, although they can be rock or rap, etc.

good charlotte could be a really good pop punk band (like blink or green day) but they're wasting their potential. if they just stuck to songs like riot girl and bloody valentine (without the cliche lyrics) they wouldn't be a bad band. instead they sing sh*ty pop songs like girls and boys, which become big hits and think that thier having tattoos and lip rings make them punk. disapointing
Ok, thanks for the props on my review. I appreciate that.

But, this is for discussing the CD, how the tracks are etc. The CD-Review Forum is not the place to discuss what genre a band is, or why they are not. I took a rough shot with Pop-Punk, and that's it.

Please, if you want to discuss what genre they are in another forum. If you don't have something valueable to say about the CD, just leave. If this genre war goes on, I will ask to let this thread get closed (for obvious reasons).
I tried that and got flamed so much i almost left.

Check this out, its embarrasing. Im on a stupid forum primarily to bag out good charlotte with other people on it. http://www.starpulse.com/forum/index.php/topic,3174.0.html

For me, the cd is good. it has variations. japanese choir and orchestra and all that. Ok, i respect your opinions about GC but you know, you just can't accept that they're actually a good punk band or whatever you're gonna call them. All you know how to do is to insult this band. AS if you can do better.
I did say there are exceptions. Rancid are an exception when it comes to the difficulty of the instrumental passages, but I tend to overlook them, since whenever I hear Rancid I have an overwhelming urge to listen to The Clash instead.
The Clash were the Fathers of punk and no punk band since has been able to come anywhere near 'em...

Does anyone get the impression that if NOFX or Pennywise or Rancid suddenly gained the album sales and popularity of Good Charlotte, all these "punk" fans would suddenly hate them too? I don't like GC at all, nor do i like NOFX, Rancid or any of those punk/pop-punk bands. their musics okay, but the fact that they all have to constantly reinforce their image says a lot about all of the punk genres. Who gives a **** what exact pidgeon hole they fit into, just listen to whatever you think sounds good.

Although i will agree totally that "i just wanna live" song is the mutts nuts.

Gud review. i totally disagree wiv wot u sed but i respect ur opinion.
i jus wana say 2 things. firstly, Good Charlotte never claimed to be punk or punk/pop or anything. they hav sed this in a number of interviews, the lip rings and the tattos is jus who they r as ppl and wer not here to judge that. personally i hate all these subcatagories in music, i class it all as rock and every band has ther own style of rock. secondly, wot is everyones problem. why r u on here slaggin off GC. if u hate them so much then why r u insisting on talkin bout how bad they r. u shud spend less time bad mouthin bands u dnt like and more time supportin the bands that u luv!!!

This is going to be the one and only time I make a comment about good charlotte. they and all other so called "pop-punk" bands are not punk in anyway. I can imagine Sid Vicious, Joey and Johnny Ramone, and Joe Strummer rolling over in their graves everytime another one of these bands releases an album and calls it "punk". They all sound the same and should just step up and admit that they are not punk, nor are they hardcore. end. of. story.

i think gc's new album is great, but i think they made a big mistake by releasing i just wanna live. i think gc shood hav released songs like walk away or s.o.s. overall i like gc's new grown up approach. my fav tracks on their new album were: walk away.s.o.s, predictable, mountain and the world is black.
