I mean, Phaedra and Rubycon are pretty much head to head, but Zeit is TD best record.

I can get behind Zeit being best. I think this is their best but Zeit is my favourite some days, depends on my mood.

Either this, Rubycon or Zeit. Their first seven albums are all worth checking imo.

Zeit though is totally different from everything else and it is very challenging. This, Rubycon and Ricochet are considered their best early works. Also, Force Majeure and Stratosfear are very entertaining as well as Exit.
Beware though: From the mid 80s on, they mainly released..well, there are some gems, but most is underwhelming.
Enjoy discovering It´s a cosmos on its own.

The only redeeming factor is that it was created when genre was in it's infancy. Every composer had their experimental album with lots of bleeps, bloops, swooshes, ring modulators, lasers and phasers. They omitted just one ingredient - music. I know that this kind of experimentation can be called music (20th century broadened that term beyond reasonable boundaries), but I would like to see who really enjoys this and on what pseudo-intellectual level. What once sounded daring and innovative today sounds terribly outdated, just because new technology blocked artist's vision and became it's only reason for existence. Whenever you rely on technology as your singular medium of expression, you are bound to become obsolete, often sooner than you can imagine.
