It is.
Also, the buildup towards the end of The Curve That to an Angle Turn'd is the sex.

Choirs of the Eye is so much better than this. Probably because motW wasn't exactly the most coherent band out there.

How is it that Toby is able to write albums that are literally timeless? 99% of bands never write even a single song that doesn't gets old and is eternally as enjoyable as the first time you heard it. Toby has written at least 3 whole albums that fit this description... the guy is a fucking musical beast. It's sad to know that the vast majority of people will never be aware that he even exists.

he'd need to appeal to teenage girls to do that

Haha yeah... wouldn't it be awesome if the success of a musician was based on... oh I don't know... musical talent?
He's written his fair share of shit as well...
Nah, at least I don't personally agree with that. The one thing about Toby is that the stuff he writes is always so different from the last thing he did. So he simultaneously alienates fans while appealing to new ones. It's definitely possible that one of his CDs will be amazing for someone and then his next will be horrible for that same person. But no matter what you can tell that he always pours himself into every release and painstakingly arranges it until it's perfect in his mind. Yeah, perfect for some never means perfect for all but you have to at least admire his creative vision, at least I do. Whenever you hear one of his albums, whether it resonates with you or not, you always know that what you're hearing is uncompromised and straight from him.. that's art in it's truest form.
god, i'm such a fanboy that it's disgusting.
(for the record I don't think everything he has ever written is perfection at all.. he definitely has a tendency to get wrapped up in being super avant-garde sometimes.. but he's still probably my favorite musician i've ever come across)

hell yeah
Also to anyone that didn't like Coyote check out Stained Glass, it harkens back to the dense, textural layering of Choirs and it definitely brings melody back into the mix. People disappointed with his recent direction on Coyote might dig it.

Imo this is even better than any Aggaloch and Opeth

If you guys enjoy Bath and Body Map, try to explore Tiamat's Wildhoney and Deeper Kind of Slumber, only albums that have felt even close in terms of atmosphere and approach to music. Granted they have NOTHING in common, but the albums are solid and probably some form of influence somewhere.
