I only got into Devin Townsend's stuff after I heard this, but upon revisiting it since, I can really hear Devy's influence on the sound as well as his production style. I really wish Devy would produce for them again; he'd be a perfect fit with their current style which sounds very influenced by him at times anyway.

One of my favorite albums from my high school years. This and A Predator's Portrait still rip pretty hard.

the riffs are much weaker and more mindless chugga lug shit compared to the previous 3, songwriting's weak, vocals are very offputting

This and Predator's Potrait are the only 2 they've done that I really really love. Or at least used to; wouldn't know since I haven't heard them in years.

Yeah dude I have a physical copy of it actually but only ever listened to it once or twice. I remember it being more DM than these records.....I should give it a proper listen

It's much more metal. Some of the lyrics though.. like "tick tock time to die..."...

but there's nary a clean in sight
