no songs in particular, just the lo fi/poor production quality irks me at times

That's what absolutely MAKES old school hip-hop for me. All this synthesized and grand electric sound you get in most hip-hop today, coupled with an almost complete deteroriation of lyrical content, really is awful. I know it's cliche to say this, but old school is where it's at. I love that songs like C.R.E.A.M and Protect Ya Neck sound like they're just kickin' on a New York block.

Hello, Cornass. And I agree fully that the only weak point of this album is 7th Chamber Part II

"Ch-Ch-POW" is also another reason why the Wu is better than everyone

the production is excellent and 'Tearz' is NOT a weak song, it's at least middle-of-the-pack on this album

Actually, probably my favorite overall song from and Wu-Tang release is Hell's Wind Staff-Killah Hills 10304 from Liquid Swords.

Four hundred barrels of ether

Two hundred pounds of reefer

and fifty immigrants with fake Visas.

Listening to Wolves in the Throne Room while talkin' bout the Shaolin

I'm much in the same boat, but i'm sure vikings and the Shaolin had much in common ;-)

Love the beat on Killah Hills, but I feel like GZA does much better work on that album.

Duel of the Iron Mic is really my dream hip-hop track though, it's got GZA, Inspectah Deck, and Masta Killa, my three personal favorite Wu-Tang members.

Inspectah Deck is Wu-Tang's hidden gem. Doesn't get near the credit he deserves.

people think that the entire genre has deteriorated, when, in actuality, the taste of people has deteriorated

No. The gritty, grimy sound of this album is timeless, as is most of RZA's production
