It is a RZA thing. Thats why they all say it like him. Its a Wu thing thats copied off/an ode to RZA. He started pronouncing like that watching dubbed Asian flicks and Movies in Time square. On Kung Fu movies its pronounced 'sWord' in phonetic english so he just used it all the time. The rest picked it up because RZA was the daddy Wu early on.

Im pretty sure Rza was the first one to make it a thing through his obsession with Kung Fu flicks.

I read that years ago.

"Seriously? Im not trying to watch a scary movie. Wtf is the begging of the album? Bring da ruckus? More like bring da no talent. A chorus would be nice but i guess not. Wish I could give this a 1."

vs

"Who gave this album a 0.5??

One of the best rap albums ever! Definetely not like the garbage that is put out nowadays in rap"

so lemme get this straight

Once Upon a Time in Shaolin was bought by 1 man - Martin Shkreli, and since he's been arrested, this album is picking up dust in a fed safe room somewhere? n1 RZA very arty

well this is pretty cool, the back half in particular. lots more subtle vocal and production quirks than I've heard in hiphop prior to this

I've still yet to see what it is that makes it so particularly acclaimed but I figure that's just genre inexperience

liquid swords is really not that great, yea... method man, raekwon, odb, ghostface solo projects are all better, imo. It's be a solid minute since i revisited any of those, tho.
