I have all of Arsis's stuff (including their demo). A celebration of Guilt is quickly becoming one of my favorite albums of all time and their other stuff wilts in its shadow.
I still have to check out De Lirium's Order though.

Sounds like I need to buy A Celebration Of Guilt.

You might be put off by their thrash influence but who knows?

I have already listened to most of Victim No. 52 (one of my friend's favorite albums I have always ignored because he wouldn't listen to my favorite albums). The only songs that ever stuck out for me were Suffering, Sanctuary of Incineration, and Masterpiece of a Morbid Mind. Those were enough to rate the album.

But that doesn't really qualify as "checking them out", does it? ;)

Nope, not at all my friend...I don't know if that qualifies as enough to rate the album on though (not trying to be a dick). I'd at least sit down and go through the whole album before dropping a rating, ya know?
Oh yeah, uh, get on your AIM ZooYorker. I'll give you links.

I believe some people judge this album the wrong way. some people try comparing it to their older works expecting it to be as technical and/or as deep as their earlier works. The whole point of this album is in fact to be quite the opposite. It's meant to be an unrelenting, brutal, yet entirely melodic metal experience that will brand its presence into your brain for all eternity.
Let this be a lesson. Music does not have to be incredibly technical or thought provoking or deep to be good. Sometimes metalheads just want a straight up metal experience to get their blood pumping. Sometimes your brain starts to hurt thinking all the time when listening to something "brilliant" like Opeth or Dream Theater. What do you do then? You bang your head to fucking Slayer or in this case, SOTS, until the pain in your neck starts to make you forget about the pain in your brain.

Lesson learned ;) I still think this is overrated.

This album kicks some major ass... The title track, Blinded by Fear, Suicide Nation and World of Lies are pretty much the definition of "fuckin' awesome".

the shotgun click in the beginning of Suicide Nation is the most fucking metal moment ever.
