How do compare these guys to Converge?

Imagine if Converge sucked.
|
| |
I'd compare them to Converge in the same breath that I'd compare Meshuggah to Slayer.
They're nothing like Converge, basically.
|
| |
Gojira is painfully average. Painfully.
|
| |
Well your best bet is to just check them out. I personally see this album as a mix of several styles that other bands do much, much better.

Where the hell did Converge come into the mix? Gojira is nothing like Converge.

mudvaynian you would probably like them.
Also the thing I don't get is why people are so in to jerking off Mastodon and Isis and Converge and all these bands but Cave In aren't "legends" for their old metal stuff anymore. Cravinov, there is so much ripped from Cave In on this album. I think you should check them out.

That's why.

You should check out Cave-In because Cave-In is great.

I've already heard Cave In and really like them too. I don't care if everyone else thinks this band is unoriginal or dislike them cause of the hype they're getting. I really just love the heaviness and the post-metal feel mixed with Cynic death metal (note robotic-like vocals), and the atmosphere is amazing if you ask me. I also think everyone will agree that the drum work on the album is amazing, but if not, then I'm a lone warrior.

Ahh... that sucks, I'm going to see these guys in concert in March with Lamb of God, Trivium, and Machine Head... I'm mainly going for Lamb of God and Machine Head... but hopefully these guys won't be too terrible :/

hey im going to that show in Feb though. all the bands are really good
|
| |
haha, i saw Lamb of God last September when they were on tour with Megadeth, Opeth, Arch Enemy, and Into Eternity (which i missed out on and was pretty pissed about) but that show rocked as hell... and Lamb of God is definitely an all time favorite band to see live.

Cravinov13,
This review compared some of their music to Converge. I was offended hahahaha!
I really like the pairing of the songs "From Mars" and "To Sirius." They remind of "Phoenix in Flight" and "Phoenix in Flames" from Converge's Jane Doe, by having a particular building section and then a really heavy, chaotic breakdown of the initial gesture.
None of you guys actually read the review. There is no actual comparison to Converge as a whole. I just mentioned that the way they paired songs was done before in a similar way by Converge. In an instance they ape Converge, not on a large scale. You guys are painful.

I agree with the comment about LoG being insanely awesome live.

The review, if you ask me, is flawed in some of it's comparsisons, wizard.
|
| |
Hell... to my comment up there, and to mudvaynian... Lamb of God was the highlight, and a girl that i brought with fell asleep during megadeth, which i found to be halarious... i was half dead after Lamb of God, but a friend of mine is obsessed with megadeth so we had to stay during them.

Then it's funny you'd cast such huge iron knees over a trivial, decidedly non-musical comparison when essentially 99% of the comparisons I've made have some legitimacy regarding, genre, aesthetic, etc.
