At times out of tune sounding guitar, like in the closer, the snare drum, and some vocals are the only aspects keeping this from being as amazing as the following two for me. However this might have their most imaginative and creative use of guitars of any of their albums.

A lot of people seem to say that, but this has the best production out of all of their albums imo and like I said, the atmosphere here just elevates it above the rest for me.

I agree that this album has the most atmospheric production, but it's just really quiet which annoys me. Especially if I'm listening with headphones.

I love the production and atmosphere on here, that wasn't what I was referring to in terms of negatives. The lyrics are amazing too, reminds me of Swallow The Sun.

This and Bergtatt are the 2 most essential folk bm albums to me. You could probably include The Mantle in that discussion as well.

Couldn't agree more Hawks, Bergtatt is my personal favorite bm record.

I did an Agalloch discog jam (not including Serpent) today and I'm glad I did. Haven't done that in such a long time, but it's one hell of an experience. m/

Def not the best production of all their albums. Too quiet and some cases of reverse dynamics.

I don't understand the quiet complaint I don't see that at all.

Well it is on the quieter side but one can just turn it up I guess. What's worse is the aforementioned dynamics, like after the clean part in She Painted Fire intro where it 'explodes' into gear but just drops in volume instead of an increase.

Hmmmm I see what you're saying. I don't ever really notice that though tbh.

I mean it def doesn't ruin the experience but it's kinda odd. Then you have to turn up even louder haha
