M/M is my second favorite Thrice record but it sounds absolutely nothing like this. There's no screaming, no flashy guitar riffs, not really "heavy" in the same way that their first five records are. It's a very stripped down and grungy rock record but done masterfully. Beggars and M/M both follow the groundwork laid by the second half of the Alchemy Index and I've found that they take time to grow and are not as immediate as the records prior. You might find yourself disappointed at first, but give them time.

My other favorite song is Daedalus. Check out this live performance, if you have the time. Awe inspiring.

Identity Crisis is a slightly uneven but still good time. Ultra Blue and In Your Hands are really the only tracks I don't come back to on it.

T&C and Torch to End all Torches are both awesome and up there in top Thrice songs for me.

If it makes you feel any better In Your Hands is my absolute least favorite on the album.

Heck, I would take Identity over Palms and maybe even Everywhere/Nowhere.

Jesus, The Earth Will Shake and For Miles are mind blowingly good. Red Sky, Atlantic and Dust are up there as well.

I would also take Identity Crisis over Palms and most of TBEITBN

Yeah Larkin, Earth Will Shake is an all-time great Thrice song. And they often play it live.

For Miles is legit one of the best songs ever.

Earth will Shake, Atlantic, Hold fast Hope, and Dust of Nations are my top Vheissu tracks.

I do prefer the Aol sessions/red sky EP version of Dust a bit, but I still really like the original too.

Neither can I. Such an incredible band. It’s a shame their recent albums have been a little...lacking.

Yeah man I’m just now starting to listen to them and they’re amazing. Can’t wait to dig into the rest. Only listened to Artist, Vheissu and Alchemy I and II so far.

Yeah, Everywhere and Palms have some really good songs but both are missing that pre-hiatus 'spark,' or something to that effect. Hopefully, they will regroup for the next one.

They seemed like they were at least making an attempt to try some different stuff on Palms. To me, it was like they threw whatever they could think of at the wall to see what stuck, a couple of really good ideas stayed up but not enough for a full album, so they just picked some pieces up off the floor to round out an even 10 songs and called it good.

And how the fuck did his voice become seemingly “damaged beyond repair?” Judging by the sometimes gross raspy sound.

Dustin does sound pretty worn out on a lot of Palms tracks.

Yeah, I kind of noticed that too. Maybe he went a little too hard on the gruffness of the last album.

He was like that on Everywhere/Nowhere too though
