i essentially grew up with the 2004 remasters of PS and RIP (not knowing they were remasters) and liked them but never understood why they were hailed so highly, epescially RIP which i thought was like a 3.5 at absolute max.
And then i discovered the originals and it was like hearing them for the first time. the remasters really sucked alot of the power out of the originals and somehow made them lethargic and bland as hell.
