For the most part unless you’re really famous or have some made some extremely passionate enemies nobody remembers or cares about the stupid shit you said 10 years ago. Most of the things you reflect on and cringe about are forgotten because believe it or not everyone else is busy thinking about their own lives. I think it’s important for people to remember that they are actually not all that special or important or interesting. Social media / internet stress should not affect your quality of life or occupy much space in your brain. If your presence is making you feel like there is a spotlight on you then reorganize. I used to get a lot of social media stress. I pared down to the essentials and set boundaries and now I don’t. I got rid of Facebook and I only use a private instagram account where all of my followers are close friends. I keep my Sputnik relationships relatively impersonal and indirect for the most part now. I don’t comment on places like instagram where I’m forced to be bombarded by notifications of replies that I might feel compelled to get trapped in endless arguments. If I occasionally feel compelled to post on reddit but don’t care in engaging in discussion I just turn the reply notifications off. Etc etc.

Identify what sources cause you stress and restrict or eliminate them. Figure it out!

I don't know why people get so worked up about this, even in the current age of receipts and cancellations. If you had an edgy past (which I did as well, let's be honest) and someone tries to out you for it, just acknowledge that you were an edgy teenager and that your views have changed, and then move on. Transparency is key here, and that's something that I'll be taking into account for my Youtube channel when it (hopefully) takes off.



The reason the Internet's been tearing down Youtubers like iilluminaughtii and Business Casual is because they're still doing a bunch of snaky manipulative bullshit behind the scenes, and NOT owning up to past mistakes. So I guess this is my advice: don't worry about any of those past edgy behaviors for the time being. And if they do happen to re-surface at some point, just address them real quick and move on. Idk, that's what I'd do at least 🤷
