@wildcard - Apple Music is better than Spotify, especially because you can upload your own songs to the cloud and get access to all kinds of shit you can't stream anywhere.

it was seemingly a known problem for a good while (it's happened to people I know irl). I'm not sure about the "why" tho, or whether this was an easily resolvable problem if you knew of a solution / workaround

I just purposefully avoided connecting my library to any cloud storage because I didn't fancy finding out the hard way

Yeah I've never had that issue with Google Play Music nor Apple Music. I still keep all my owned files locally too so I'm never losing anything.
