"Another entry in the "bands I feel like I should like more for influencing bands I love" category tbh. Idk I find this stuff too cold and mechanical. Emotionally void, barely any melody but I suppose that's not the point."

My first impression with the band wasn't exactly the best, while kinda "interesting" in sound, it felt so simplistic for my taste, specially with Nothing, but something about it was still intriguing, and i kept coming back until i realized it was my favorite thing in the world, i guess this band does click with you or just doesn't

One of my favorite parts about this album is the high pitched (or however you say that, I’m not a music theory buff) guitar riffs that come in once the band has been jamming on a solid chunky groove for a while like on outro of Light the Shortening Fuse. Happens again on Phantoms during the chorus. Really nice atmospheric addition to the groove. Feel like there’s a lot of that on this album and it just makes me feel warm and fuzzy when it happens. I think others probably find it monotonous because of how much it’s used here, which is fair

Feel like they broke away from that on TVSOR which was quite welcome honestly, and there they played with those sounds in a more experimental way than in the past. It took me a long time to vibe out to those changes on TVSOR but once they clicked it became top 3 shug for me
