New Vektor is comparatively better than any other thrash album of its time, wanky length and crappy production aside because there is no thrash scene right now, basically an accessible rehash of better Coroner and Voivod records, sits on a 4.3

I am mistaken, the messy post fest didn't begin in 2008 as you've said. Regardless, 2008 was still jam-packed with tech death releases.

also to address crypt's previous post, I don't think the avg of this album is a knock to it. I think it's a lot harder for listeners to grasp what happens over the course of this album as opposed to TR. neither of them are accessible imo (this because of the off-the-charts technicality, and TR because of the 73 minute runtime), but TR is probably easier to grasp to the average listener than this is

btbam's spacey albums are like a rehash of pink floyd or something

Coroner is great, but not really one of my favorite thrash bands. Now Voivod, on the other hand... they most certainly are.
