dynamic in the musical sense maybe but surely not production wise, that's one of the albums notorious flaws isnt it?

Ok this is bizarre, the packaging says this was distributed via Blackened Recordings yet that record company wasn't established till 2012 despite the copyright still being 1988 and the obviously outdated design of the CD case. Album is clearly a remaster of some sort which finally makes sense

"Johnny how exactly is this a 2"

I despise the fuck out of the production, the sluggish repetition of some tracks, the awkward transitions of others, the grating tedium of listening through the whole thing, and the overhype that makes it even more bitter. Blackened and One are good jams and I do appreciate that there's some good songwriting under some other tracks; I don't consider this objectively awful, I just hate it so badly that anything other than a 2 would be kinda dishonest.

Yeah, I actually just picked that copy up too. Definitely is a remaster, but they just kept all the old packaging

In your dreams. It might actually have started out as a 4 (or 3.5) when I got it back to back with RTL and tried to get in with it. It's only slipped down with time.

Ironically, my laptop speakers have very bad bass but I could actually distinguish the bass guitar on the title track several times so we'll have to see about that

Edit: Finishing up Blackened and I could vaguely hear some semblance of a bass guitar throughout. Granted I also just bought a new set of earbuds so depending on how good your setup or earbuds/headphones are you may otherwise not notice it at all. The compression is slightly annoying but hey if I could slightly hear the bass (albeit with a complete lack of low-end) then I'm cool

This is better than RTL imo. This riffs harder and has Blackened

Name a single song here that riffs harder than Fight Fire With Fire (other than, possibly, Blackened)

This album really doesn't get enough credit for how complex the melodies are despite the occasional repition in riff motifs
