^ Agree totally. Sputcore 'Tones picks always tend to favour the chub for some unknown reason.

Anniversary of an Uninteresting Event is peak “pretty” Deftones. Incredible track.

I agree although it took me longer to get into than their other pretty songs like Sextape and Xerces.

"nah that’s a 10 year old pov actually"

Assuming that's still talking about the same thing, the majority of opinions I've seen expressed on here, in the time I've been a member (early part of this year) hail SNW as their best, along with a greater veneration of albums consensus elsewhere would consider mid-tier in their discography.

It'd be perplexing, but ultimately appears groupthink.

Ya clay, it’s definitely a deeper cut considering Sextape absolutely blew the fuck up on tiktok

Which I’m totally fine with btw. Love the band so much, seeing them get even more popular with the younger crowd is cool as hell.

Ahh maybe that explains why Sextape is in the bands top five most popular songs on Spotify. I've always wondered, and I don't go on tiktok so I wouldn't have clocked.

Hasn’t TikTok also tried to cancel Deftones cos Chino said the n word on 7 Words? I think the attention is going both ways lol

It’s weird, like I get the whole “woke” perspective, but people that get offended about every little thing, ESPECIALLY when it’s not directed toward them, get on my fucking nerves.

Hexagram and Minerva are peak Deftones. I also love a few tracks on this like An Anniversary of An uninteresting event and Needles and Pins. Still the rest of the album doesn't hold a candle to the two first mentioned tracks. So good.

Deathblow?

Moana?

Battle axe?

Lucky you?

When girls telephone boys?

GTFO

how about that amazing transition from Bloody Cape into Anniversary Of An Uninteresting Event? such a jarring but really representative of the turmoil chino and co were going through

Gotta agree with Imp there, both Hexagram and Minerva are the two songs I can play any time at any place and just vibe to them no matter what mood I’m in. The rest of the album is solid enough but those two are the peak for me

You mean Chino inventing fucking mumble rap?. It's good, but how the fuck you sing a song that's almost whispered?
