I hold Metallica in the same regard as I do Led Zep, legends of their genre but to me the vast majority of their albums are 4s. Super consistent but nothing that really blows me away.

Funnily enough, AJFA is probably my favourite Metallica at the moment and the one album by these guys that I'd say is closest to Vol 4. Although I'm in the middle of a Sabbath fanboy phase so maybe that'll change eventually.
