Easily their best and most impressive on pretty much every front for me.
Perfect direction for them to go in and a gorgeous work of art from start to finish (well, aside from how Mombasa ends).
Throwing this on never ceases to make me feel better and more gratified no matter what’s going on in life.

I completely agree which is why I think the album is so good. This is my comfort album, I guess. It just never fails at being relaxing and calming.

Yeah my most played album of the past year and a half, and Great Mass of Color most played song. Such an intoxicating atmosphere that’s quite addicting.

Shellstar is my favourite off of here. The chorus is just too good. It is currently my most played song on Last.fm which is probably not a good thing but I am not complaining.

The first three and Other Language are my favs.
Am I crazy or does Other Language kind of sound like something by Intronaut?

As someone who has only listened to one Intronaut song, I don't fully see the comparison. But, I barely know the band so my opinion on this doesn't really count.

Listened again, and again to see if I was being a meanie - but nah, I'm not being a meanie. This album actually blows aside from Shellstar, Villain and Mombasa.
I will say that Other Language does have some nifty riffs after coming back to it again. If this band didn't have George? Have at it, I guess. Tides of Man did an instrumental album that wasn't awful. But George has absolutely 0 dynamics with his voice.
Can't wait for the next album where they explore more obviously derivative late 80's/90's gaze bands. Maybe we'll get their version of Slowdive's 'Pygmalion'.

I feel the same way as you, but I think the songs you listed are the worst on the album haha.

I adore this album. The problem is George cannot, and I mean CANNOT, sing well live.

@Teal yeah I agree, he struggled to really nail the clean singing on stage. The songs were still fun nonetheless.
