Wasted Years is far from the best track here, but agreed

Over the course of time, 6 of these songs were my favorite at one time or another

Alexander lyrics alone are better than wasted years, mind you

Heaven Can Wait is the only one that's actually weak imo

All of these comments create so much hype. I mean if someone walked into these threads and had never heard of maiden, he would assume this is their best album, just from the attention it gets. The comments paint a picture of a 4.5-5 album.

Nothing could be further than the truth, though.

In reality, it's more like a 3.5-4 record.

I find Somewhere in Time to be one of their worst album of the 80s. Caught Somewhere in Time and Wasted Years are classics. The rest? Eh.

Disagreed

I wouldn't call Sea of Madness, Alexander the Great & Deja Vu etc "eh" in my books.

But then again, it's hard to to say what is their "worst" album from their 80s albums. These had such a strong run of albums in that decade.

Killers and Piece of Mind are the "weak" albums from the era

They still rule tho

I love Piece of Mind, don't hurt my feelings guys... I'd say that Somewhere in Time, like it or... like it more, it's the most consistent Maiden album in terms of atmosphere. All the songs serve the sonic purpose of the whole.
