Listening to this one after a long time and I'm still astonished at how raw, powerful and beautiful this is. Lost nothing of its impact on me. Timeless classic and probably Opeth's best.

GR is a very close call though.

Agreed with both of those comments Davil. This is my fave Opeth on most days.

This is maybe 5th/6th now. I had to make some adjustments. And yes, I need a name change but the site doesn't allow them for technical reasons at the minute (as far as I'm aware).

Let me try to guess, and put my Demon-knowledge to the test. Above this for you are:
Morningrise
Orchid
Still Life
Blackwater Park
and maybe
Damnation (...? This one I'm not so sure about)

But, your name is beautiful! :] You should never change it.

I prefer GR to BWP (or did, it's been a while actually). The others are correct.

Gooood. I was already slightly in doubt about BWP yeah. GR certainly is super good, it's always in my Top 4.

Songwriting and production on GR are top tier, and the balance between clean and growling parts is just perfect. I also think Mendez' is on top of his game on GR, despite suffering from exhaustion as I've learned.

Yeah they struck gold there as far as balance goes, agreed. Really like what Mendez does on Heritage as well though!

Lol sorry, of course I meant Lopez, not Mendez!

But hey, they are such a class act, everybody is simply amazing at what they are doing.

At live performances they make it all look so easy but their level of proficiency is just insane.

Haha gotcha! So many band members were at some sort of peak during GR, it could kind of apply to everyone maybe!

Agreed, it hasn't lost a thing to age. It's amazing.

Rejamming this for the maybe the first time properly in like 3 years makes me wonder why I ever fell out of love with Opeth. It's odd, how every time i'd come back to Opeth over the last 2 or 3 years it felt like an inexplicable love was lost. Then the end riff to Demon of the Fall arrived and near brought me to tears. Goddamn.
