Don't look up lyrics. Go full Conan.

Ok mate, I am deeply inspired by your avatar anyway, going full throttle.

I thought the album would be more heavy and was surprised at how post-rock esque it was on first listen. I knew the band were post-metal but for some reason I imagined just screaming and heavy drony type music.

they have drone elements embedded throughout their discog but they were heavier before this too

i like the quiet loud dynamic coupled with the imagery of the album cover and artwork, it makes me think of like floating in the ocean and then a giant wave or something comes when it gets heavy again.

And then Aaron Turner screams and it's like Godzilla rising up from the depths.

I’m thinking Wavering Radiant is better than this. I’m probably crazy.

Going full Conan is what I do with most metal music. Looking up lyrics can be amusing sure but is defo not a requirement when barking along. Barbaric Sims-speak all the way.

How cool that this is sometimes quite warm despite the vox, in The Other for instance. That riff is kind of upbeat sometimes.
This is nice!

Lots to love here, I especially liked this aforementioned 'positive' sounding riffs, which also pop up in From Sinking. Great touch.

Trif this is almost exactly the reason why i fell in love with them. The riff/guitar build-up in the second half of Syndic Calls on Panopticon is a prime example of this

Yeah exactly ocean, that's super lovely, the contrast with the gloomier stuff. It's good indeed.
