most everyone was dancing around to the whole dj set thing...basically all our favorite songs blasted out as huge jams. "what would i want sky" (back when it was just a live thing they threw in) killed, as did the new electronic version of "who could win a rabbit". also, the lights! big spheres of delicious color

aw the fireworks/essplode is classic...brings out the fantastic songwriting in the latter that i always thought "danse manatee" sort of ruined w/ its production. the live show really brought out "also frightened" for me...never really fell in love with that song and then it opened up

animal collective were awesome when i saw them. unfortunately the crowd sucked and i had to move a few times because multiple people asked, and i'm quoting verbatim here, "when are they going to play some fucking songs like my girls?" it was visibly written on the band members' faces that they were aware of this also
haha when I saw them it was actually before I was into them... it was at the apw festival outside, and it was uncomfortable because we were all squished, I couldn't move, and it felt like my lungs were going to collapse from all the various different fumes around me. I was also sick of waiting for a *cough* more important band *cough* to go on so all I was hearing was noise, although if I heard the same noise now I'd probably enjoy it much more.
