'Angeles' came from another dimension. That song changed my whole reality - i was never the same after.

What would you put over this one? I think I slightly prefer the self titled, but not overly familiar with a couple of his albums

I prefer XO to this by a respectable margin.

i'd put self titled above all of them, and probably figure 8 above this. 3rd best sounds agreeable (altho the highs on xo are better than the highs on here imo)

Alright, only on second spin and this one is already working for me more than the first two albums, love the fuller sound here.

If you love the fuller sound than you'll enjoy Elliott more and more from here on (until you return to New Moon)

Ok I'm really in love with this. "Alameda" through "Between the Bars" is an insane run. I like the slightly more observational stance he takes here compared to the first two albums. The melodies are just so smooth and the slightly buffed up arrangements give it that extra touch of warmth and immediacy.

this is his classic album but I think you'll really like XO too - that's his Wilco album, more a band bells and whistles Beatles-y effort
it's edgy indie points to prefer the two albums before this, but this one just refines the approach to the point of rendering them almost obsolete - ok, they have some good songs but the true melodic magic and slightly world-building-y feel really kicks in here

XO and Either/Or are so obviously his two best albums it's definitely a bit of a credibility marker for me when people argue anything else.
I do have a soft spot for Basement for some reason though - half the songs on that one are amazing but it doesn't really make sense as a proper album.
The good stuff on that one claims third spot.

I feel a bit of that worldbuilding magic here - everything just works in an effortless way that’s hard to describe.
Yeah it’s pretty obviously a classic, just may take some time to fully hit me.

I'm always waffling between this and the debut as his best - I've listened to RC more often within the past couple years, but I've known this album longer and "Between the Bars" stands alone as my favorite Elliott tune.
