It's definitely not as fleshed out as the other epics i.e. from the hill, stones, the tide etc.

For a long time I kinda considered it an afterthought. Musically it's not an epic in that vein, you right but I really dig the lyrics. It's a song I really enjoy on an album i have no problems with whatsoever but it's definitely not my favorite song on it

This indeed is less accessible than The Eye Of Every Storm. It will take more time to digest this one I think. What I do like is the empty space they always seem to allow between riffs/instruments, that is really refreshing and commendable and an undervalued aspect in all music but especially in metal.

Album is definitely a grower, could say that about most their albums though.

This and Eye are their most accessible works but for different reasons.

Everything else is pretty obtuse by this band, not counting TWAL and Pain.

Fires is pretty easy to pick up actually.

Yes! It feels nicely huge, their sound, but also very grounded. Like continental plates or something.

I can see what The Ocean is trying to do now, but to me Neurosis do it a lot better. If that makes sense at all haha!

They use space very well ye, I get what you mean.

They do ambience like no other, genuinely transcendental at times.

No one creates brooding or apocalyptic atmospheres like these guys yeah

I'm so jealous of Trif tbh, the journey of this band is so unique.

Once their work starts to click its like nothing else, ugh.

I'm starting to get that transcendental too, yeah, super cool.

Oh I love it when that happens Pleb. It's the best feeling!
