Those are both definitely next for me… but I don’t think Axe to Fall is the best representation of their sound considering the two closing tracks are barely Converge songs at all and the rest of it is filled with guest spots.
I like the direction they went in with AWLWLB

I mean Axe to Fall definitely got me into the band after a decade of not really understanding the hype behind Jane Doe.
But when that came out, everything really clicked HARD. Then AWLWLB came out and I was already on board but that's one of, if not my favorite Converge album.

Quintessential Converge album. So many incredible tracks here - hard to pick a favourite but Distance and Meaning and Heaven In Her Arms have long remained two of my personal favourite Converge songs ever.
Nevertheless, whole album is still (after all these years) one of the GOAT.

I love this album but it feels like I'm suffocating listening to it. I know that's kind of the point but there's really only a few scenarios in which I can listen to this album and not feel like I'm getting short of breath. It's just something about the production and relentlessness of it.

y'know that's what I felt instinctively for a while but having revisited in more recent years, it really isn't as relentless as my younger self thought - it's weird how such a perception can exist and prevail over counterpoints experienced later in life (as in, I know this album so well and yet, I still saw it as this monstrous slab of suffocating heaviness and it kinda is, but also not completely)

I’ve avoided this band and album for years. By all accounts I should hate it given my tastes lean more towards classic/prog metal and tend to dislike most punk and hate hardcore… but I can’t deny how hard this goes. Reminds me in a way of Slayer’s Reign in Blood in its relentless but focused intensity. It’s also surprisingly cathartic. Production is pretty killer too as it finds a great middle ground between clarity and rawness. Kinda shocked how much I dug it.
