fair enough i spose, although i gotta say the last couple minutes of Hell to Pay is prob one of my favorite Converge moments
production on this thing is perfect tho, wouldn't change a thing about it

Bro Distance and Meaning is the GOAT
And so is Hell to Pay
And Concubine
I like the start of Fault and Fracture but it's not my favorite song.
So what you on about that the album doesn't get going until Homewrecker??

if there is one record that gets going right from the start, it's this.concubine might be the most abrasive opener ever put to tape

Can't agree with that. Distance and Meaning into Hell to Pay helps build a lot of tension for this album leading into Homewrecker. Wonderful dichotomy

Indeed. Satisfying build / contrast. The moments before Homewrecker kicks in are almost as invigorating as the track itself. The anticipation, and then...

One time I saw them they busted out Hell to Play and Kurt still had the feedback going and I heard that drumbeat… those mfs went straight into Homewrecker. Literally sounded like the album. Fucking unreal moment that I’ll never forget

I experienced a similar moment when I saw them play this album in full, easily one of the best shows I've ever seen
edit: although I can see how that moment might be a little more special when you don't know what song is coming next lol

I dunno I never liked "Distance and Meaning". There's no particular riff or groove that is catchy and the vocals remind me of WFCC, which I'm not the biggest fan of. "Fault And Fracture" is a great song but still not completely jaw dropping like other tracks. "Hell to Pay" is cool but very unlike any other song on the album, kinda like an outlier.
I think it's the inconsistency of those first few songs that prevented me to 5 this but I still fuck with this record big time as I do pretty much with all of their releases thus far.
