i NEED some lyrics. The way Jacob talks about the track makes it sound wildly depressing. I’m bummed that my first listen of the record will likely be without lyrics, unless by some miracle my vinyl ships early (hey it’s happened before…) but I won’t be able to stop myself from jamming Love Is Not Enough the moment it hits Spotify

Yeah, vocals here were not meant to be understood but felt after all

Vocal performance on this is ineffable.

I used to think that YFM was their best album, but this truly is their greatest achievement, it's so replayable and memorable

It's truly a one-of-a-kind vocal performance. Well, not surprising considering Jake seemingly blew out his ability to do this vocal style during the touring leading up to You Fail Me.

"Yeah, vocals here were not meant to be understood but felt after all"

facts. evidence is in the liner notes of the cd. each song gets its own unique 2-page art piece. all the lyrics are blended into the visuals but they overlap so much you can't make out a complete sentence, except for short ones like "stay gold," "run on," etc.

Quite possibly the most maniacal vocal performance ever recorded in the history of music.

depends on one’s definition but in terms of hardcore and ting, could be true. History? Hmm. Idk

Perhaps my comment was superfluous and hyperbolic but the vocals are indeed insane.

I’m probably the worst Converge fan but this was this hardest album for me to get into and I’m not convinced is their best. For me this doesn’t really get going up until “Homewrecker” and onward.

I also think this deserves a proper remaster, even though Kurt has stated that he’s happy with the production of this record. Still solid, just not my favorite.

Concubine doesn’t “get it going”??

“Concubine”’ starts off pretty well, but it’s far from my favorite here. Next three songs have never stood out for me and then this thing blows my fucking face off. ”Broken Vow” is simply one of their most incredible songs. And then its demolishing riff after demolishing riff.
