I'm gonna out myself but I think Book II loses something during and after the silent part. Yes the acoustic coda is great, but other than that they kinda stopped developing the song when it picks up again after the quiet part. Granted I mean it in the sense that differentiates between 4.5s and 5.0s so don't take it as a diss haha

Fair enough, i do like the album from start to finish. Such a truly unique band. Always very nice to see younger generations getting interested by old timers like Rush.

It's one of those albums that's just perfectly organized and paced. I've probably said something to the effect of this elsewhere, but it's just 36 minutes of all-killer-no-filler material. The only reason I have Permanent Waves ranked slightly higher is because it resonates with me more on an emotional level, but that's not to take away from how amazing Hemispheres is. These guys were so good at making records that didn't waste a single minute, especially from the mid 70s to the mid 80s

This album is my second fav of all time. Can't really choose a fav track here. One of its multiple strengths lies in its dynamic flow and cohesion
