I personally rate Palm Reader a lot higher, I think the climax is one of the best moments on the album!

Yeah it really might be my favorite screamo record ever depending on how loose we’re getting with that label.

If we’re calling Touché Amore screamo then Stage Four beats this for me at least. Songwriting, instrumentally, even the vocals themselves are all more impressive here but in terms of just raw emotion Stage Four is peak. Jeremy put everything into it and it shows. Like to the point where I can’t even really listen to that record much anymore because it literally will ruin my day.
I don’t really get that feeling with this record. Sure there’s a few legitimately powerful moments here but front to back Stage Four is emotionally devastating, like every second of it.

And I know this is more of a “me” thing considering the avgs, but We Are Always Alone by Portrayal of Guilt is up there too, if I’m ever in the mood for just feeling like fucking dogshit I’ll spin that
Also, take your pick from pg99. I love most of those late 90’s early 2000’s screamo landmark releases but pg99 is a cut above the rest for me

goddamn I love that record. It’s amazing how much just hopeless sadness Jeremy could pack into a minute and a half long song.
It just takes the opening note on Flowers and You to make me tear up, there’s nothing here like that for me. Again, I recognize that this most def took a lot more talent to make, it’s much more complex compositionally, but emo ain’t just about that baby, it’s about making me fucking cry which is something Touché fucking excels at. Literally every song on that could bring me to my knees. They’re playing the whole thing in Chicago and I’m really debating on going even tho I cannot afford it

Adore Touche Amore and dig Portrayal of Guilt but this is otherworldly
