I WANT you to enjoy your time on Sput and be welcome here etc etc, but it feels like you're consistently seeking out fights and drawing up strawmen to deflect any arguments. And when people get on you for those, you double, triple, quadruple down, and it's something you haven't shown much growth from.
Like I completely understood where you were coming from waaay back in this thread, but sometimes you gotta let things go and roll with it.

Yes kick ass at your interview, please do yourself a favor and every once in a while just hit that log off button, it's not worth giving in to some shit.

“@MoM: same way I expected Lorna Shore to change my life after Pig Squeals and Breakdowns let it FIRST ROUND ELIMINATE one of the best albums of the year in the end of year polls. I have high expectations when a hype train rolls around.”
Lorna Shore too? Bruh…

Mars in all honesty i wasn't even looking to continue that argument i was just specifying that as an example there. Clearly other people like music for different reasons and thus they can be hard to get recs from when I need a certain vibe.
Ty pitchfork and mars. I get caught up in this stuff cuz I know if I leave in some other instances I'm just gonna get called a coward. If this was a different place I bet people would have said I was using the job interview to deflect from my "shit take" or whatever.

"First time anyone on sput has ever called me nice"
First time for anything bb, you're a chill presence, you can def come on strong in arguments but that's also something a website needs, someone that makes you really think and shit y'know?
|
| |
I'm not even gonna lie and say that I don't feel any infinitesimal tinge of like "FAKE METAL for TEEN GIRLS" to some, SOME, of the anti-hype here but like by this point everyone has given like 12 other p level headed arguments why this is trash and if you think that's "the Babymetal treatment" than you should maybe refresh your memory on how internet metalheads reacted to Babymetal

Drift Dawg I listened to that young dre D alb yesterday it slapped

Don't get used to it....
jk but really you are sorta the sput realitychecker (or at least the one who is just going to say exactly what they're thinking - niceness could maybe come as a secondary trait, we'll see. It's been 15 years lol)

“also something a website needs, someone that makes you really think and shit y'know?”
It’s true, I do tend to get everyone’s neurons firing with the ol “guitar music bad”

“ get caught up in this stuff cuz I know if I leave in some other instances I'm just gonna get called a coward”
Posting a controversial shit take and then flippantly logging off as the site burns is a Chad move my friend

tbh if I ever see a rating for yours somewhere unexpected on like a metal album and it's positive, I'm usually pretty excited to hear it lol, have to assume it's good to win you over.

if they're calling me a coward I often feel I need to prove I'm not and it's a self repeating cycle. Sometimes leaving leads to more harassment and poor treatment. And these days those people could easily use that as a hex to try and take me down if I ever become successful.
Although I will say, this one stalker I had finally fucked off when I left this group called metal storm so it's a double edged sword

I get that, but that kind of mindset where you're wearing your heart on your sleeve 24/7 means you'll get baited constantly and/or take the usual Sput shittalking too seriously.
It's healthy to be able to disconnect and realize that, on the internet, most are using a persona/are trolling/etc. Your investment in that does not to be stuck at a permanent 100%, although I respect your passion and dedication to doing so.
Letting that negativity define yourself or define your day isn't good. What some anonymous someone-or-other over virtual waves at a computer or phone or whoever that you don't *really* know should not have that much power over your happiness. It takes time, but just shrug it off and move on.
