Yeah this is my AOTY. I actually enjoy this more than Brother, Sister which I'm sure most will contribute to recency bias but I don't think that's it. This is just unfurling energy/existentialism, and pretty much everything else I'm a sucker for. Could see this remaining my favorite mwY record.

this is easily better than B,S to me. This one captured my attention faster and has remained extremely enjoyable each listen, actually, it gets better with each listen even to this point somehow. I’m struggling on whether to put this or Emery’s newest as AOTY for me, going back through both of them this week and I’ll make my decision by Friday

God this is just so good. Took a little break to catch up on some other releases and just listened again... that abrupt ending in Michael... then break on through to close the album is jarring, but not in a bad way. This parallels “a Black Mile...” from last year in terms of capturing emotion, at least for me.

nothing comes close the the melody of Julia

nothing comes close to being as entertaining as Hydra

nothing comes to to the haunting atmosphere of Dormouse Sighs
