"do kids not know how to pirate anymore smh my head"

buddy, most of them don't even know how to navigate File Explorer, of course they don't know how to pirate. not like they even need to in this instance, since Utena's free on YT anyway, but that's beside the point.

Man, what I had to go through to pirate back in this album's time period. Searching album name plus "winrar album", sifting through bogus links, saving the .rar file, unzipping, adding to iTunes, renaming everything properly, putting track lists in the proper order a lot of the time, transfer to device. I'm probably forgetting something too.

i don't recall it being that difficult, a bit time consuming for the download sure, but smooth sailing thereafter. maybe it was because i was only looking for zips on my psp/android. it was rare to find a dl so shitty it didn't have artwork/proper track list. that's more reminiscent of the pre 2010s limewire days.

I was pirating like that right after this, around 2006-2007. Despite how tedious it was, I still preferred it over Limewire type stuff because the actual downloading was usually faster and I could rely on the files being what they said they were. The Kazaa days could be rough on that front.

Deemix is the way nowadays, although I usually just rip what I can and save it for archival purposes while mostly streaming. Miss the days of getting some albums suuuper early from random rips, though
