On the topic of Dream Theater, one of my friends demanded I explain why I didn't like them. He could not fathom how I could dislike that band.

DT are ok. I like a few songs, but they get a little too carried away sometimes. They could probably shave at least 2 or 3 minutes off a lot of the songs I have heard. The only thing I have by them is their "Greatest Hit" album tho.

Early DT is sweet. I think they are still pretty consistent. The vocals can put some people off but I'm alright with them.

If you're gonna listen to any DT album, then listen to Scenes from a Memory.
