It would be good if they went in a more dm direction, dropped the keys/turntables/nonsense, got a proper vocalist, trimmed the breakdowns etc

Then they'd just be an average death metal band

Does the average death metal band have THREE drummers?

Didn't think so.

I think Corey is a good vox, but a mediocre songwriter.
They do need a change of pace, I'll give you that.

Lyric writer you mean? He doesn't get to riff in Knot.

I was always under the impression Gray wrote everything, muscially. Now Root does the job.

Dead Memories is one of the best on here as well.

The way I understood it there was a core few members who did most of the writing, namely Root, Paul, and Joey, and the other members did there thing on top of/with what the main guys put together. Corey got more involved with a couple tracks in the latter albums though.

Ahh, fair enough. If Corey does contribute more to the last two albums, it probably explains why they've dipped hard.

Haha, could do, though he's pretty involved in SS and their last two were excellent (I'm sure Root had a lot more to do with that though). Will be interesting to see how the new Stone Sour sounds without him.

"Why would you listen to slipknot, they're so boring and not nearly hardcore enough for me cause I'm into way heavier stuff and they're an average pussy band" - Heard this shit so many times...

Meh, you either love slipknot or don't really give a shit. There's no in-between. No point hanging around these ratings, they won't do much.

Peace.

This is my fave Slipknot because they abandoned a lot of the childish nu metal vibe and focused on just making a strong, solid slab of extreme metal. And honestly, I think they succeeded much better here than on their first three records
