This might not be a 5 to me anymore, as it once was, but it still is one of the most important albums to me out there. I loved this to death when I was younger, and it has been a great part of the reason I love concept-albums, progressive rock, and Floyd in particular

I imagine some other people feel the same way. Hence the 4.3 avg.

But there are better Floyd concepts, better Floyd concept albums, better Roger Water-ish albums. Everything this does, another Floyd album did it 20 times better.

Hmm

Well, that is a matter of opinion. This album is very different to those before it. I will however say that Dark Side is my fav. But that does in no way bring this down.

You say that there are better Floyd albums; but don't they have higher avg. ratings than this, if I may ask? I know Dogs, Dark and WYWH do

One of the biggest piles of crap ever and it should be no surprise because Rogers Waters wrote the majority of it. I mean he is even WORSE than Gilmour.

What to say... It's a stupid concept album. Put this up against a masterpiece like Quadrophenia and you can see The Wall was written by self-absorbed individual with an undeveloped brain.

This pretentious album is the inspiration for oh so many crappy prog rock records. Looking at you Jokeupine Tree.

This album is just Roger Waters and massive ego whining for an hour and then some. Poor vocals, weak lyrics, and just tedious... The arrangements are stupid and the music is disjointed. For a concept album it flows poorly and is down right annoying.

I can give 1 for Gilmour's solo on Comfortably Numb but his tone still sucks.

To conclude...

This is one of the most tasteless albums I have ever listened to. I remember selling it to a friend who then sold it himself because he disliked it so much.

Last time I listened to this I found the first CD to be too long but the second CD to be gold
basically until the very end.

but i still think the second one is better after you hear the weird depressing first CD
