How do people justify a 4.5 on this? That’s actually possibly the hardest rating to justify because instead of not liking it at all, you are kind of saying “this is amazing but I don’t like this one or two songs” (I also don’t like one or two songs) but then refusing to acknowledge the fact that this albums status as one of the most iconic albums made in the past 30 years doesn’t completely override your opinion that it’s a fire is shit.

Like, it’s a 5, sorry. And not all classics are perfect.

Dunno, I'd sooner 5 this because it's a near-"""perfect""" album (ft. It's a Fire and ig Strangers) than for pretending it's one of the most important albums in the universe to me. It's up there! If I had 100 5s it whatever, there's no way I'd shut the door on it, but it doesn't quite carry the be-all-and-end-all quality that I associate with a 5, and that's as far as I'm prepared to overthink it for now
I am however gonna have a 5s reshuffle sometime quite soon and will throw this on the contenders pile just in case

Anything between 3 and 4 makes more sense because it’s like “I like this to a certain degree but disagree it’s a classic”

4.5 is like “I basically love this enough to acknowledge that it’s absolutely a classic but I’m a fickle dingus who rates things in .1 increments sometimes to feel special and important”

And then anything below a 3… you don’t like it. You are wrong but entitled to being wrong.
