Nah it'll have a similar vibe to the Fame (conveniently 15ish yrs old) where it still catches the excitement of the moment with its own distinctive character

idk guys this album is a teen pop star turned internet darling finally reaching their potential and putting out the classic everybody had been hoping for for almost 10 years now
in wrestling terms this album is cody finishing his story. you can even call crash her codyverse run

Fascinating. Wrestling is very sticky

it's a classic within charli's timeline for sure, but i don't think anyone can confidently say either way how fussed we'll be about her as an entity in 15 yrs lol
obviously possible her future output well be inspiring and relevant (not hoping high for the remix album ngl), but look at how CRJ's hype has gradually dissipated in 10 years of diminishing returns since Emotion - that album as a Great Leap Of Poptimism deal p easily eclipses her as an entity or discog at this point, don't think it's inconceivable that this will become a similar one-stop for anyone curious as to What All That Brat Summer Fuss Was

We'll see. I guess I listen to a lot of electronic music and I don't really get the "distinctive flavour" as much as pop-lite versions of sounds I've heard many times before.
There's no Poker Face or Bad Romance on Brat. Plus, The Fame isn't really highly thought of.

there are a bunch of currently-iconic songs on this and second guessing their longevity isn't rly feasible at this point
The Fame as an album is defs bloated and flawed and not an end-to-end acclaimed package in the same way as this, but as a thing-that-happened with huge highlights it gets p much universal favour from anyone who understands jack about pop

Iconic era from Gaga, the album had all-time bangers like Just Dance, Paparazzi etc.

"You'd agree with me if you understood about pop..." ...whatever...
It doesn't get universal favour. I just looked up about 5 lists of best albums of the 2000s and found The Fame in exactly one of them in the lower reaches.
Lady Gaga herself as a phenomenon - yes - definitely. But the specific album? No way.

Nah humans like The Fame. I have literally proved it’s highly thought of

I don't mind it. LOVED a few of the singles. The highs are higher than BRAT, but BRAT is more consistent. But there's way too much awfulness on it. Plus you have to sort of amalgamate that and the Fame Monster to get a decent tracklist.

And yes, I know Brat is an end-to-end acclaimed package. But that is my whole point! Why? It's good - all the way through. But it's not great.
I know I'm in the minority. I can deal with that.

the point is that people look back at that era of Gaga and fondly remember how she was on the good sauce without getting hung up on how every individual track (or her basic-ass 00s electropop prod, bless) has aged since
this alb is currently in the phase where most of us are still chinstroking over How Seamless It Is As An Artistic Statement or Where It Will Sit In The Canon Of Very Important Albums, but its eventual legacy will probably be much the same

I think The Fame Monster is the most acclaimed Gaga release per se and that though I wouldn’t at all have made the association it’s in a relatively similar space to brat except less memeable as an entity. But a big artpop move that was all hits plus in gaga’s case a big visual music video aspect
The Fame is more iconic for its singles than as an album but is a really good and acclaimed album. Forgot where I was going with this but Brat certainly isn’t more iconic for its singles, which was baked into the concept of the marketing

Maybe. Gaga was HUGE though. Charli? Not as much. I teach at a high school in Melbourne and I was talking to the kids about "The Summer of Brat" and only a few even knew what I was talking about.
It was a month ago though.

Honestly one of my draws to this is how "album-centric" it is as a pop experience. You don't get many pop albums nowadays that sell themselves as albums, I really appreciate how cohesive this is in full

Also think this is very late millenial/old zoomer coded, I can't imagine high schoolers being into this

Yep, Fame Monster was considered better at the time. But neither were acclaimed. The SINGLES were iconic.

Agreed on both comments Fowl, this album brings me back to my early 20s and first going to clubs.

I do agree with the "late millenial/old zoomer" take.
