It's rather infuriating to me that we have a nearly-ideal audio format in digital that's been completely butchered because of the loudness wars. Still, I can't imagine many bands/labels are going through much trouble (if any) to make vinyl masters much more dynamic. Whenever I've checked out vinyl rips I've rarely heard any difference and then you're just left with the typical distortion and other limitations of vinyl. Maybe I'll see if I can find some for Ulcerate because, yeah, Shrines especially was brickwalled to hell.

Most albums go through several masters before one is actually released as the final product, with various levels of dynamic range compression, so labels would absolutely have a dedicated vinyl master handy if they aren't stupid. I agree that digital formats are unfairly maligned, because CDs sounding worse has everything to do with industry standards and nothing to do with the medium itself. As consumers we kinda just have to deal with that ¯_(ツ)_/¯
But yes, every Ulcerate album sounds noticeably better on wax, I assume this will too

Anybody in here with a pro set up? I just tried comparing the bandcamp wav to the leaked mp3 and I can't notice a huge increase in quality. Granted I don't have the whole amplifier - dac - setup. Anyone audiophiles here?
