Some pretty intriguing songwriting. Composition is amazing but they could... diversify the overall sound a little.

Hard to explain and they're relatively new band for me too. Generally really liked the album anyway.

na your kinda right. i still think EiF is their only true "classic" worthy album, at this point they'd be well-off to switch up their aesthetic principles a bit.

every night i pray to whatever is out there that you wake up just late enough where youre hungry and want breakfast but you have a delicious lunch scheduled with your group of dear close friends who are all beautiful and kind people who admire you, support you, and will grow and experience this world with you, so then you have to wait an hour or so before you can eat

FYI, that's me you're praying to. Gets just a bit annoying.

get the 24bit download of this if your player/dac can do 24bit.. Much better mix with more dynamic range for any of you nerds who give a shit.

don't waste your money on the 24 bit version. it is the exact same mix and sounds identical, and definitely doesn't have more dynamic range, clocks in at about DR4 or DR3, like the cd.

lol I don't agree the mixing is weak

tdoa and vermis are weaker musically than both these in my view (tdoa is close) but had by far their most consistent production values

yeah eif's mixing wasn't good at all, especially in the drums. the mix on this wouldn't have been so bad had they not totally destroyed it by brickwalling. probably part of the reason i can't get into this as much as i want to. a real shame because in terms of technicality and density this album is really impressive.

yeah I don't know how much you've listened but initially I was kinda eh overall, listening more and more and trying to get past the production let downs and overdone drum sound, I feel comfortable saying this is their best songwriting on a release besides eif
